* Below is a sample from our site 2 of a nitrogen cycle that is not functioning normally. As you can see, on day 2 the number of protozoa went up, and the number of bacteria also went up. This is strange because if there are more predators to bacteria (protozoa), there should be fewer protozoa.

Below is a sample from our site 5 of a nitrogen cycle that is working well. The protozoa have an inverse relationship with bacteria, and nitrate has an inverse relationship with ammonium and nitrite.
