      In E.S.S.R.E. Biota Survey 2014 we found that Site 4 had the lowest amount of algae. Since this site is a partial wetland and has high bacteria levels, we were puzzled by our findings. We decided that there must be another factor in algae growth. After observing a direct correlation between nitrate and algae levels we hypothesized that the lower nitrate levels in Site 4 caused the lower levels of algae. We then tested our hypothesis with an experiment that can be found in our procedure.
