Welcome to the Troubleshooting page!
The purpose of this page is to provide suggestions on how to complete our experiment successfully.

Outdoor Suggestions
1.   Wash the soil core extraction tool after every use to prevent contamination. 2.   Use a trowel to make a slot in the ground before you put your microscope slide in.
3.   Bring extra microscope slides outside in case a slide breaks. 4.   Do NOT write on the microscope slide except to mark the 1.5cm line. Once it has been taken out of the soil, then it can be labeled.
6.  Insert and remove microscope slides carefully because they are fragile.
5.   Bring water outside with you to stay hydrated. 8.   Leave micrscope slides in the ground for at least 48 hours.
7.   Wear long pants and shirts and use bug spray outside to protect yourself from bug bites and ticks.

9. Bring a First Aid kit outside with you and a phone or walkie-talkie in case of injury or emergency.

Lab Safety

1.   Safely dispose of glass slides in the broken glassware container. 2.   Always wear gloves and goggles when working with chemicals.
3.   Make sure to wash and dry pipettes and stirring rods before using them to avoid contamination. 4.  Put the cap back on chemical bottles immediatly after use to avoid dangerous spills.
5.  If a chemical comes in contact with your skin, rinse it with water for 15 minutes. If a chemical is swallowed, contact the Poison Control Center immediately at 1-800-222-1222
