1.
Wash the soil core extraction tool after every use to prevent
contamination. |
2. Use
a trowel to make a slot in the ground before you put your
microscope slide in. |

Bring extra microscope slides outside in case a slide breaks. |
4. Do
NOT write on the microscope slide except to mark the 1.5cm line.
Once it has been taken out of the soil, then it can be labeled.

6. Insert
and remove microscope slides carefully because they are fragile. |

Bring water outside with you to stay hydrated. |
8.
Leave micrscope slides in the ground for at least 48 hours. |
7.
Wear long pants and shirts and use bug spray outside to protect
yourself from bug bites and ticks.
9. Bring a First Aid kit outside with you and a phone or
walkie-talkie in case of injury or emergency. |
